Chapter 1: The Monk who waited
The gentle rumble of the fire in the Golden Lamb Tavern replaced the night's cold howl's that had chilled Brother Redding to his core. The fire had picked up heat and coated the Golden Lamb's coat of arms in a soothing orange hue. Another familiar night wind blew in through the open door and cleaved the flame, but only for a moment; it remained strong. Redding took a swig of his tonic wine that he was allowed to drink for free, mainly because the monks make so much such of it at the priory.
